Mallory joined USRT as an intern in January 2026. Originally from the Midwest, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Geology from Iowa State University, where she also completed minors in Forestry and Sustainability. After graduating, she spent a summer in Alaska working with the Juneau Forestry Sciences Lab, conducting fieldwork in the Tongass National Forest. She later moved to Idaho in 2023 to pursue her Master’s in Geosciences at Boise State University, where her thesis examined the impacts of climate change on vegetation in semi-arid ecosystems.
Outside of work, Mallory enjoys hiking, camping, and exploring the Pacific Northwest with friends and family.
